The stranger likes politics

>Auto: Hey, what to debate a topic?
>Stranger: Hi
>Stranger: Yeah sure go ahead
>You: unless you want to do a different one
>You: factory farming/animal rights
>Stranger: Ok
>Stranger: What's your opening argument
>You: Where are you from?
>You: I'm from the US
>Stranger: Canada
>You: Donno Canadian ag, but in the US intensive animal farming isn't good
>You: increased suffering of the cows, pigs and esp chickens
>Stranger: Necessary though
>You: no
>You: and horrendous to the environment
>Stranger: Yeah, and what's the alternative to feeding your population
>You: plants
>Stranger: Where do you get the space for plants
>You: How would a vegan diet be sustainable? The majority of crops we grow we feed to livestock animals as it is. In fact, all the grain that's used in the US, alone, could feed 800 million humans. We could eradicate global hunger with just those crops--from the US alone! The sustainability issue is really a nonissue.
>Stranger: And how do you force People to be vegan
>You: It's not about some mandate
>You: Individual choice. We have an abundance of alternatives in supermarkets
>Stranger: Yeah but I don't want to be vegan
>You: Right. I can't argue against apathy.
>Stranger: So
>Stranger: How does tour plan work
>Stranger: Your
>You: Well, there will always be a demand for meat and other animal products
